Instructions
Prepare the Caramelized Onions
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sprinkle with salt and sugar. Stir to coat the onions evenly.
Cook the onions for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook the Bacon
In the same skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Grill the Hot Dogs
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the hot dogs on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally until they are heated through and have grill marks.
Prepare the Spicy Mustard
In a mixing bowl, combine yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, and honey. Mix well until smooth. Adjust the hot sauce to your preferred spice level.
Assemble the Hot Dogs
Place each grilled hot dog in a bun. Top with caramelized onions, crumbled bacon, and a generous drizzle of spicy mustard.
Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy your gourmet hot dogs!
