  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon espresso powder
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)

Instructions

  2. Melt butter in a large bowl and stir in granulated sugar until glossy.
  3. Whisk in cocoa powder, then add eggs one at a time, mixing gently.

  5. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Beat mascarpone until smooth; mix in powdered sugar and coffee liqueur (if using).
  7. Spread mascarpone mixture over brownie layer, then top with remaining batter.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until slightly jiggly in the center. Cool completely before slicing.
