  • 34 lbs chuck roast
  • 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 crusty French bread rolls

Instructions

  1. Sear the chuck roast in a hot skillet until browned on all sides.
  2. Layer the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the seared roast on top, followed by minced garlic and pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours or until meat shreds easily with a fork.
  5. Half an hour before serving, slice French bread rolls without cutting all the way through.
  6. Shred the beef in its juices and spoon it into the rolls. Serve with a bowl of au jus for dipping.
