  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup carrots, finely chopped
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the onions, carrots, celery, and garlic for about 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, herbs, salt, and pepper; stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving over cooked pasta or zoodles.
