Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 medium yellow onion (divided)
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp oil for cooking
- 2 tbsp flour (for gravy)
Instructions

- 2. Shape the mixture into four oval patties about one inch thick.
- 3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the patties for about three minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked through.
- 4. Remove patties and sauté remaining onions in the same skillet until translucent. Whisk in flour to make a roux, then gradually add beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
- 5. Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low heat for about ten minutes until cooked through.
