Description

Pepper Steak is a mouthwatering dish that combines tender flank steak with vibrant bell peppers and a savory sauce, resulting in an irresistible flavor experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced against the grain
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips. Chop onion and bell peppers into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, and black pepper. Add beef strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers until tender (about 5 minutes).
  4. Push veggies to one side of the skillet; add marinated beef in batches and cook until browned (about 3 minutes).
  5. Mix cornstarch with beef broth; pour over cooked beef and veggies. Stir until sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
