  • 1 cup almond flour (100g)
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (150g)
  • 3 large egg whites (about 100g)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (150g)
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and prepare baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until frothy; gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form, about 5-8 minutes.
  4. If using food coloring, gently fold it into the egg whites until evenly distributed.
  5. Carefully fold the sifted dry ingredients into the egg whites until just combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space in between.
  7. Let the piped shells rest for about 30 minutes until they form a skin.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until firm but not browned; cool completely before filling with Nutella.
