- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian seasoned)
- 8 oz (225g) fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 28 oz (800g) canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
- Take a portion of the mixture (about golf ball-sized), flatten it slightly, place a mozzarella cube in the center, and enclose it. Roll into a ball.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Place meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Serve warm with sauce drizzled on top.
