  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix flour and sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms.
  2. Roll out the dough and cut into circles to fit muffin tin cups. Press into cups and prick with a fork.
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely.
  4. In a saucepan, heat milk and vanilla over medium heat. In another bowl, whisk yolks with sugar; gradually add warm milk while whisking continuously.
  5. Return mixture to heat and stir until thickened (about 5 minutes). Cool slightly.
  6. Fill tart shells with custard and top with fresh strawberries. Chill for at least an hour before serving.
