  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in half of the dry ingredients followed by the milk, then the remaining dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle sugar over the top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
