  • 1 package (16 oz) phyllo dough
  • 2 cups unsalted pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer half of the phyllo sheets in the greased dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  3. In a bowl, mix pistachios, sugar, and cinnamon; spread over the phyllo layers.
  4. Add remaining phyllo sheets on top, buttering each layer, and cut into diamond shapes.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While baking, combine water and honey in a saucepan; simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Pour warm syrup over baked baklava immediately after removing it from the oven.
