  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the risen dough, divide into about 12 pieces, and roll each into strips approximately 6 inches long.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange breadsticks on parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with melted butter mixed with minced garlic, sprinkle with mozzarella, herbs, and Parmesan. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
