  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (or herbs of choice)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and active dry yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center, pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil, then stir until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about eight minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for one hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Gently punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet, stretching it into your desired shape.
  6. Create dimples with your fingers all over the surface, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with herbs, sea salt, and let it rise again for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
