Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb frozen thick-cut French fries
  • 8 oz ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 medium sweet onion, sliced
  • 1 cup bell peppers (mixed colors), sliced
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup zesty marinara pasta sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Spread fries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake according to package instructions until golden brown (25-30 minutes).
  3. While fries bake, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper; cook for about 4–5 minutes per side until browned to your liking.
  4. Remove steak from pan and sauté onions and bell peppers in the same skillet until soft (about 5 minutes).
  5. Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  6. Once fries are done, layer them with sautéed veggies and sliced steak, then sprinkle cheddar cheese on top. Return to oven for an additional 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Serve hot topped with marinara sauce, green onions, and sour cream.
