  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle instant yeast on top; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter; stir into a shaggy dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick), spread brewed coffee over it, and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
  6. Roll tightly from one long side to form a log; slice into 12 equal pieces using dental floss.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with brewed coffee.
