  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or buttermilk)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans, lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add milk and melted butter, mixing until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. Once cooled completely, layer cakes with caramel sauce in between and drizzle more on top before serving.
