  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional): basil or thyme

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sprinkle with salt.
  2. Cook onions slowly for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and caramelized.

  5. Combine drained pasta with the caramelized onions and garlic in the skillet. Toss together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce.
