Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook penne pasta in boiling salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix marinara sauce, ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine the drained pasta with the sauce mixture until well coated.
  5. Layer half of the pasta mixture in a greased baking dish. Add half of the remaining mozzarella on top. Repeat with the remaining pasta and finish with all the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
