- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add cold butter and cut until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms; chill.
- Create the Filling: Toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl; let sit for 15 minutes.
- Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll half the dough to 1/8-inch thickness; cut into 5-inch circles.
- Assemble the Pies: Place apple filling on one half of each circle. Fold over and seal edges tightly; crimp with a fork.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush tops with egg wash and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
