  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approximately 1.5 lbs)
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • Olive oil spray (for cooking)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat chicken breasts dry, then season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. In one bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with half of the grated Parmesan. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg wash and coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Spray both sides of the breaded chicken with olive oil and place in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  6. Cook for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is reached.
  7. Carefully add marinara sauce over each piece and top with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Return to the air fryer for an additional 3 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
